Portugal and Brazil Demand Independence from Spain

Several riots are happening in Spain, demanding that Portugal and Brazil be independent.


The riots have been happening on Former Portuguese and Brazilian territories have demanding independence all week

The Spanish government held a referendum, which ended up with 43% wanting independence. Many are saying that the referendum was rigged, and are continuing the riots.


The main reason for the protests is the fact that Portugal and Brazil speak Portuguese, and that there are many cultural differences involved.



Many saw this as an opportunity to bring awareness to the assasination of Marielle Franco, a former Brazilian Politician.


They are also very dissatisfied with the current government and the economy, wanting their voices to be heard and their demands to be met.


But for now, they will remain a part of Spain.
